Salary Range: $26.2 - $30.57 Per Hour
Job Summary: This position is located at Outdoor Recreation on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This is an open continuous announcement with an initial cut-off date of 03/27/2025. Major Duties:
- Serve as the working leader over the maintenance section of the Recreation Center assigning tasks to be performed to individual members of the maintenance section.
- Check work in progress and when finished for compliance to procedures, methods, and specifications according to manufacturer's technical specifications.
- Repair and maintain a variety of gasoline/diesel powered equipment.
- Use a variety of test equipment such as equipment analyzers, electric chargers, compression testers, micrometers, and electric circuit testers.
- Wait on customers, by checking identification, issuing equipment, assistant and providing information at time of issue on proper care, use and responsibility of equipment.
Qualifications: Experience or training that indicates sufficient knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of this position consistent with acceptable practices of the trade. Position requires a diversity of knowledge and skills in performing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic repairs on equipment operated by diesel/gasoline powered engines. Position also uses welding skills to weld metals and plastics, basic carpentry skills to build benches, basic painting to refurnish bikes and boats, and body work to repair fiberglass boats and skis. Incumbent must use judgement to determine what items should be purchased and/or recommended for purchase.
