Profile Overview

We are looking for our new Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in driving critical initiatives across cloud infrastructure, software architecture, team management and product support. In this role, you will take full ownership of our engineering function and people management, providing strategic direction in workload planning, feature delivery, and team growth. You'll also act as a technical partner to the CEO and Product, advising on technical risks and opportunities.

In our agile, hands-on environment, you'll stay close to the codebase, occasionally contributing to development tasks too to stay grounded in the technical challenges the team faces. As a collaborative leader, you'll engage in technical and cross-functional discussions and support the CEO in understanding and navigating technical complexities when needed. This is a unique opportunity to build and mentor a talented engineering team in a small but growing company, balancing innovation with quality and scalability.

Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be:

  • Get to know your team and our talent management practices (level/role criteria, current career goals)
  • Align the team’s talents with the delivery missions to optimize skill and growth areas.
  • Monitor and improve team processes and performance.
  • Support presales technical questions with help from the team while you learn about the product’s technical capabilities.

Your responsibilities

  • People Leadership: Manage a team of 4 talented engineers, conducting regular 1:1s, providing constructive feedback, supporting personal development, and mentoring to foster growth.
  • Technical Guidance & Code Reviews: Lead by example in technical excellence, conducting code reviews and contributing occasionally to the codebase. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and cloud computing trends to guide team development.
  • Process & Quality Management: Drive the development process, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring an environment of innovation balanced with high-quality standards.
  • Cross-functional Support: Be the technical reference for presales and architectural guidance for product teams.
  • DevOps & Infrastructure Ownership: Partner with SaaS group’s DevOps team to refine DevOps and SRE processes, ensuring smooth CI/CD workflows and reliable infrastructure.
  • Security Oversight: Lead security efforts by assessing security issues raised by customers, organizing and managing security audits, and responding to external outreach related to security concerns.

What You bring to the table

  • Experience in PLG SaaS environments: Proven experience leading an engineering team in a product-led growth SaaS company. Outstanding people skills and willingness to sharpen your leadership skills even without similar titles could be an option too.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge of web technologies, security practices, DevOps, and hands-on experience with AWS, Linux, Containers, ECS, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ.
  • Tech Stack Mastery: Proficiency in Python, Flask, SQLAlchemy, TypeScript, React, with a commitment to high coding standards and testing best practices.
  • Engineering Leadership & Team Development: Ability to motivate and mentor engineers, guiding career growth, encouraging continuous learning, and fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture.
  • Innovation & Problem-Solving: Track record of solving complex problems, making strategic decisions, and continuously improving processes to enhance team performance.
  • Cross-functional Alignment & Stakeholder Management: Strong skills in managing relationships with Product, Design, Marketing and other teams, ensuring that engineering solutions meet strategic goals and end-user needs.
  • Project & Process Ownership: Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end projects, lead development ceremonies, and drive initiatives that improve team efficiency and productivity.
