Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Guest Engagement & Service:
  • Greet guests with genuine warmth and professionalism, ensuring they feel welcome and valued. Take accurate orders, provide recommendations based on guest preferences, and ensure each interaction embodies the high standards of Aethos hospitality. Handle special requests and dietary restrictions with care, ensuring guest satisfaction and proactively addressing concerns throughout their experience.
  • Menu Knowledge & Food Service:
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the menu, including food ingredients, preparation methods, and wine pairings. Serve dishes with precision and care, ensuring presentation and quality meet Aethos standards. Anticipate guest needs, providing timely service and ensuring all orders are served correctly.
  • Table Setup & Cleanliness:
  • Ensure tables are properly set before and during service, maintaining an organized and clean dining area. Perform routine cleaning tasks, including wiping down surfaces, changing linens, and ensuring hygiene standards are met throughout the shift. Create a welcoming and tidy environment for all guests.
  • Inventory & Stock Management:
  • Assist with stock monitoring, ensuring adequate supplies of plates, glasses, napkins, and other dining essentials are available for service. Communicate with the team to manage any shortages and ensure smooth service flow. Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of storage areas.
  • Transactions & Payment Handling:
  • Process guest payments promptly and accurately, whether through cash, card, or digital methods. Follow company procedures for billing, ensuring accuracy in tabs, receipts, and end-of-day reporting. Provide a seamless payment experience while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance:
  • Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene regulations while handling food and beverages. Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working condition, and follow legal and company standards. Maintain high cleanliness standards in the dining area to promote a safe and comfortable experience for guests and staff.
  • Teamwork & Communication:
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, fellow servers, and management to provide seamless and efficient service. Communicate clearly and professionally during peak service times, offering support to teammates and contributing to a positive, solution-focused work environment. Participate in briefings, training sessions, and team meetings to improve performance and grow your skill set.
  • Key Qualifications & Requirements

  • Language Skills: Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential to effectively communicate with guests and team members.
  • Experience: Previous experience in hospitality (minimum 5 years) is highly valued, though a passion for service and a natural ability to host are equally important.
  • Hospitality Mindset: Must possess a genuine enthusiasm for the hospitality industry, with a warm, approachable, and guest-first attitude.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and during special events, as required by the hotel's operations.
  • Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong ability to make thoughtful decisions, handle guest feedback constructively, and resolve issues with professionalism and care.
  • Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality are required in line with Aethos scheduling standards, which may vary based on hotel needs.
  • Compliance: Adherence to all Aethos Hotel standards, health and safety regulations, and operational procedures to ensure a smooth and secure environment for guests and staff.
  • Team Contribution: Actively seek ways to improve service, enhance team productivity, and contribute to a positive and solution-oriented work culture.
  • Professional Demeanor: Maintain a consistently warm, friendly, and genuine presence while upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
