Position Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and self-driven Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure Services (CIS) team. In this role, you will take ownership of the design, implementation, and automation of our cloud infrastructure, with a primary focus on AWS and GCP. We need an engineer who can work independently, make technical decisions, and drive projects forward with minimal supervision. You will operate and evolve our Terraform-based platform and CI/CD pipelines, serving as a key contributor to our global infrastructure strategy.

Job Responsibilities:
- Cloud Infrastructure & Ownership
- Manage and optimize production infrastructure across AWS and GCP (with secondary support for Azure).
- Act as a technical owner for assigned projects, resolving complex infrastructure challenges independently.
- Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and reliability risks, implementing solutions before they become incidents.
- Take full ownership of tasks from design to deployment.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation
- Design, write, and maintain high-quality Terraform code to manage infrastructure.
- Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins) to automate deployments and enforce guardrails.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting (Python/Bash) and serverless functions.
- Review peer code and enforce best practices for state management and modularization.
- Security & Governance
- Implement and enforce IAM policies, ensuring least-privilege access across cloud environments.
- Audit cloud resources for security compliance and cost optimization.
- Drive security initiatives, such as rotation of credentials and hardening of network perimeters.
- Collaboration & Reliability
- Drive post-incident reviews (RCAs) and implement long-term fixes.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and runbooks.
- Work collaboratively with engineering teams to ensure infrastructure meets application requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure roles.
- Technical Experience
- Cloud Proficiency: Proven production experience in AWS and/or GCP. (Experience in both is a strong plus; willingness to master both is required).
- Infrastructure as Code: Strong hands-on experience with Terraform. You should be comfortable writing modules, managing state, and handling complex dependencies.
- CI/CD: Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Scripting: Proficiency in Python or Bash for automation tasks.
