About the Role
As a Release Lead in NZ Pacific Domain, you are responsible for providing project planning, management and oversight for key initiatives and implementation projects, ensuring first that these initiatives and projects are closely aligned with ANZ Technology strategic priorities, and second, that these initiatives and projects are completed on-time, within scope and budget and with an extremely high quality of deliverables.
You’ll have capability in coordinating resources and interdependencies across multiple streams of work. The Project Manager will provide structure and leadership to a broad, multi-disciplinary project team comprised of internal people, vendors, and contractors. Experience in large, complex, dynamic environments is essential. To be successful in this role, you’ll be a confident communicator with experience in negotiation and influencing skills.

What will your day look like?
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and interact with all levels
- Assigns and monitor work of technical personnel, ensuring that project steps are in alignment with business objectives, on-time and within budget
- Creates an environment of openness, trust and collaboration
- Ensures that the various elements of the project are properly co-ordinated. Includes project plan development, project plan execution and integrated change control.
- Ensure all reporting is accurate and transparent
- Identifies, clarifies and communicates project vision, goals and objectives and how these tie into, support or impedes organizational strategic objectives
What will you bring?
- 14+ years’ Project & Release management experience.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery, from inception through to delivery of small to medium to sized initiatives and/or key pieces of work within programmes or projects
- Work collaboratively with key business owners and stakeholders to deliver the best outcome for the customer
- Work collaboratively with 3rd party vendors to deliver the best outcome for the customer
- Provide financial budget oversight across project deliverables
- You will operate across multiple teams to ensure delivery is aligned
- Agile experience at scale, innovative problem-solving, and a collaborative mindset.
- Experience in Handling high complex migration and lifecycle management.
- Experience in Integrating complex application & products.
- Proven experience in Release Management, Project Management, or a combination of both within a technology environment.
- Strong planning, coordination, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on risk management and quality assurance.
- Knowledge of change management processes and ITIL best practices.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across global teams.
- Engage with stakeholders and leadership to communicate progress and key updates.
- Oversee deployment activities, ensuring compliance with governance standards.
Additional responsibility:
- Track and report on release metrics, project milestones, and delivery KPIs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery speed, reliability, and transparency
- Able to track investments and benefits delivered to customers
- Communication skills; ability to articulate messages and communicate well with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation. From executive level to project team members.
- Familiarity with software delivery frameworks and controls to deliver technology solutions
- Ability to actively listen, use judgement and make sound decisions.
Technical Tool Kit
- Project Management: PMP, PRINCE2 or PMI-ACP
- Agile Delivery: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist, or AgilePM
- IT Service Management: ITIL Foundation or higher.
- Cloud Platforms: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Fundamentals, or Google Cloud Certified (Associate).
- DevOps / Release Management: CI/CD, Jenkins, or GitOps
