We are seeking a proactive and versatile Associate Attorney to join our legal and business operations team within the manufacturing industry. This hybrid role blends core legal responsibilities with strategic business support, ideal for a candidate with 1–5 years of experience who thrives in a collaborative environment but can also take initiative and work independently. You’ll contribute to legal compliance, corporate governance, contract management, and cross-functional business development.
Legal Responsibilities
Contract Review & Management
Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs, vendor agreements, supply chain contracts, and other commercial documents.
Ensure contracts comply with internal policies and legal standards.
Maintain and organize the contract database for accessibility and audit readiness.
Corporate Governance
Assist with entity management, board resolutions, and corporate filings.
Support governance initiatives and maintain accurate corporate records.
Privacy & Data Protection
Research and provide updates on privacy and data protection laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and industry-specific standards.
Collaborate with IT and compliance teams to ensure proper data handling practices.
Due Diligence & Legal Research
Conduct legal research and due diligence for, vendor onboarding, and strategic partnerships.
Prepare risk assessments and legal summaries for internal stakeholders.
Business & Project Support Responsibilities:
Organize project documentation and manage permissions on SharePoint and other collaboration platforms.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, including process and data analysis.
Document a wide range of project information, including systems requirements, process flows, and meeting notes.
Prepare agendas, materials, and logistics for calls and meetings as needed.
Complete market, product, and competitor research to support strategic initiatives.
Participate in business and product development efforts across departments.
Learn and utilize internal databases and reporting tools.
Track and maintain prospect contact records (calls, meetings, emails) for business development.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active bar membership in good standing.
1–5 years of relevant legal or corporate experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
Strong understanding of commercial contracts, corporate governance, and privacy regulations.
Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
Proficiency with contract management systems, SharePoint, and legal/business research tools.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Attributes:
Experience preparing meeting materials and presentations.
Ability to identify relevant press coverage and industry trends.
Familiarity with RFPs and due diligence questionnaires.
Comfortable managing multiple priorities and adapting to evolving business needs.
Willingness to take on additional tasks as assigned.
