This position is a Hybrid role with working in the Troy office 2-3 days a week. 

What You’ll Be Doing (a.k.a. Your Day-to-Day Impact):

  • The Loss Mitigation Specialist will process mail, loss mitigation documents, legal documents, and any other necessary documentation.
  • Manage group email boxes and respond in a timely manner to borrower inquiries.
  • Assist borrowers with submitting loss mitigation applications by gathering all necessary documents and signatures.
  • Provide telephone support and assistance to the default team, which included speaking with borrowers and addressing any questions they may have.  
  • Review borrower loss mitigation applications to determine the appropriate workout solution based on Towne, investor, state, and federal guidelines, including researching and resolving any title issues.    
  • Review loss mitigation applications and process loss mitigation files for review.
  • Communicates loss mitigation decisions to borrowers through a variety of channels.
  • Draft loss mitigation documents and prepare documents for execution and mailing to borrowers.
  • Provide support to other Default Servicing teams, including Bankruptcy, Foreclosure, Property Preservation, and Claims as needed.
  • Organize, prioritize, and process a high volume of work accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to learn and utilize various loss mitigation web-based technologies daily.  
  • Assist the Servicing team with other duties as needed.
  • Responsible for supporting the day-to-day tasks and other functions as assigned.
  • Ability to meet regular and reliable attendance.
  • Becomes/is an advocate of our culture and adheres to our core values.

What You Bring to the Table:

• 1–2 years of experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, or loss mitigation.
• Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal.
• A solid grasp of the mortgage industry and comfort with business support and financial services technology.
• Quick learner with a flexible mindset — ready to grow and contribute across the Default Servicing team.
• A proactive, detail-oriented, and organized approach to your work.
