The Loss Prevention Analyst will assist the Loss Prevention department in the protection of assets through the execution of safety, inventory integrity, and internal/external theft reduction initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities:
- Use case management system to track, prepare, and submit all incidents, reports, reviews, and other activities.
- Cooperate with and respond to requests by police departments, courts and other agencies to process requests, provide documentation, or review CCTV footage.
- Assist with installation, R&M, and monitoring of loss prevention equipment, dashboards, and portals.
- Prepare, curate, and deliver routine and ad-hoc reports.
- Track compliance and appropriately report violations and anomalies.
- Review and analyze data, inventory reports, and other systems for potential theft, fraud, policy violations and other opportunities for loss.
- Conduct analysis of point-of-sale transactional data using LP tools, such as exception-based reporting, CCTV, and other company systems, to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
- Assist with internal and external investigations, providing actionable data and offering investigative support using available resources and technologies.
- Performs special projects or additional Loss Prevention related duties as requested.
Equipment and Maintenance:
- Assist with the deployment and ongoing operation of all loss prevention equipment, including CCTV, alarms, security systems, and merchandise protection.
- Use the CCTV system to monitor store activity.
- Monitor the cash wrap area of the store for consumer fraud, employee dishonesty and compliance with proper cash handling and cash register policies and procedures.
- Monitor store conditions regarding general liability and workman’s compensation to track and present findings.
- Utilize and monitor CCTV camera system to maintain physical security of assets.

- May not sign contracts on behalf of the company.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex business processes and identify indicators of loss or suspicious activity.
- Advanced proficiency with data visualization and exception-based reporting tools; capable of structuring and presenting complex data in clear, visually engaging ways.
- Basic understanding of investigative processes, including evidence gathering, interviews, and case building.
- Working knowledge of criminal laws related to theft, trespassing, and vandalism.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities effectively.
- Strong attention to detail for monitoring and evaluating data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
- Ability to learn and adhere to laws, regulations, and company policies pertaining to investigative work.
- Dependable, task-oriented, and flexible in adapting to changing business needs.
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Loss prevention or retail experience is preferred, but not required.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Availability to work Monday–Friday during regular business hours or as business needs required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
