We operate a critical utility plant that provides essential services to support our operations. Our mission is to ensure reliable, efficient, and safe delivery of utilities through continuous monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of our systems. The Work
As a Utility Plant Operator, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of our plant and site equipment. You’ll be responsible for both day-to-day operations and troubleshooting, ensuring our systems are running at peak performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Operating and maintaining utility plant equipment, including high-temperature hot water generators, centrifugal chillers, air compressors, cooling towers, and HVAC systems.
Monitoring and controlling the building management system to optimize performance and efficiency.
Recording, reviewing, and interpreting equipment/system readings, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions.
Performing routine repairs and maintenance, including preventive and predictive work, modifications, and upgrades.
Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control system issues using hand tools, multi-meters, and diagnostic equipment.
Collaborating with other team members to ensure seamless operations and a positive, team-oriented environment.
Shift details:
Initial training: 1st shift (7:30 am – 4:00 pm) for approximately two months.
After training: 3rd shift (12:00 am – 8:00 am), continuing training until fully qualified as an operator.
Weekend work, holidays, overtime, and shift coverage as needed.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government clearance at the Secret level.

Basic Qualifications
High school degree or equivalency.
Valid driver's license.
Proficiency in hand and power tools.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and controls issues.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government clearance at the Secret level.
Ability to work from aerial lift platforms and ladders.
Ability to lift 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
Valid driver's license.

Knowledge of steam generators, deaerators, coils secondary hot water systems, building automated electronic control systems; refrigeration systems, HVAC systems that supply controlled temperature and humidity.
Ability to check out operational and functional components of entire building HVAC systems to maintain, repair and operate to original manufacture’s specifications
Self-motivated, dependable, and positive attitude.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and alone.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $49,400 - $86,940. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
