Manager of Accounting Integration & Optimization
Role summary
Lead the end-to-end integration, standardization, and continuous optimization of accounting processes, systems, and controls across new and existing business units. Drive post‑close finance integrations, streamline month‑end and operational accounting workflows, implement automation and reporting improvements, and partner with IT, FP&A, Tax, HR, and Operations to deliver accurate, timely, and scalable financial operations.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee accounting integrations for acquisitions, carve‑outs, and internal reorganizations, including AP, AR, GL, intercompany, cash management, payroll interfaces, and fixed assets.
- Design and execute integration playbooks: map source-to-target processes, build runbooks, set timelines, assign owners, and manage cross-functional workstreams.
- Lead transformation projects to consolidate systems, harmonize chart of accounts, standardize accounting policies, and implement ERP/finance platform changes.
- Optimize core accounting processes (month‑end close, reconciliations, revenue, cost accounting, payables, receivables) to reduce cycle time and risk; introduce automation and RPA where appropriate.
- Establish and strengthen internal controls and coordinate control testing with CFO and external auditors.
- Develop and maintain metrics and dashboards that measure integration progress, process efficiency, data quality, and financial close performance.
- Provide hands‑on support during the first 30–90 days post‑close for acquisitions to ensure accurate cutover, reconciliations, and remediation of issues.
- Coach, mentor, and when applicable manage a small team of accountants or integration specialists; scale resources through contractors or partners as needed.
- Document processes, train impacted stakeholders and create knowledge transfer materials to embed new operating models.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2–3 years leading integrations, finance transformations, or ERP implementations, or commensurate experience in audit environments.
- Deep working knowledge of GAAP, intercompany accounting, revenue recognition, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle Cloud, SAP S/4HANA, Sage) and financial integration tools; experience with middleware, APIs, or ETL tools is a plus.
- Proven project management experience running cross‑functional, time‑sensitive initiatives; PMP or equivalent experience desirable.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and automation platforms (e.g., Celigo, Workato, UiPath).

Reporting, location, and travel
- Reports to: Director/Head of Finance Operations or VP, Finance Transformation.
- Location: Hybrid or remote with periodic on‑site presence preferred.
- Travel: Moderate travel (up to 25%) for onsite integrations and stakeholder workshops.
