Job Overview
The System Administrator II, Information Technology is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security of NYSERDA’s intranets and computer systems. The System Administrator II is responsible for maintaining existing server environments, responding to employee concerns or drafting documents to help employees use computer systems, and coordinating with company leadership to determine new technologies that could enhance NYSERDA’s computer systems.
The System Administrator II, Information Technology identifies any problems in the system, anticipates potential issues, and repairs systems and software when necessary.
Primary Responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining M365 accounts, permissions, groups and authentication policies
- Managing and maintaining file servers
- Deployment and management of Microsoft Intune Endpoint Management
- Act as support backup for Atlassian products
- Maintain Webex Calling environment
- Maintain documentation, inventory and e-waste
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
- Travel requirements: 10% or less travel expected
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience in a field such as Computer Information Systems,
- Strong technical acumen with exceptional communication and negotiation skills to work with a wide array of users with varying technical skills.
- A demonstrated record of success in driving improvements in service operations and successfully delivering services within complex business or government operating environments.
- A command of business analyses, documenting requirements and specifications, and mapping processes to inform the development and integration of new processes and technology.
- A demonstrated record in managing multiple diverse and complex activities simultaneously, delivering on commitments, and operating with speed, accuracy, and strong judgment.
- Perform all job responsibilities with respect, fairness, consistency, and inclusion.
- An ability to quickly identify and drive to the best possible solution when presented with a series of opportunities and constraints.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills that resonate with audiences of different backgrounds; the ability to communicate persuasively, concisely, and unambiguously in speech and in writing.
- The ability to effectively produce materials Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Has in-depth analytical and technical expertise to act as subject expert in their area.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs of equipment in a datacenter environment.
- Consistently maintains composure and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience in a field such as Computer Information Systems
- Experience with Azure Identity Management
- Experience with Azure Intune Device Management
- Applicable certifications.
