La Posada Hotel is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team at the Tack Room. If you have a passion for preparing high-quality steaks and delivering exceptional dining experiences, we invite you to become a part of our vibrant restaurant environment. This role offers an opportunity to showcase your culinary talents while working in a dynamic and supportive team.


Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook a variety of steaks and other menu items according to established recipes and quality standards

- Ensure all dishes are presented attractively and served in a timely manner

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and cooking stations

- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times

- Must dish wash dinner ware, glass ware, and kitchen equipment 

- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation

- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations

- Adhere to portion control and waste reduction practices


Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a steakhouse or similar restaurant setting

- Knowledge of grilling, broiling, and other cooking techniques specific to steak preparation

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

- Must have a Food Handlers certification 

- Must be able to be a team player

Requirements

Education/Formal Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen role or preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for providing outstanding service.
  • Ability to handle and deliver orders accurately.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
