Summary


The Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.



Functions


· Setting and clearly communicating Production Employees’ expectations for safety, quality, cleanliness & efficiencies. Ensure that production employees understand and meet all the expectations. 

· Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.

· Manage production employees’ training plans with Team Leaders.

· Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.

· Manage departmental performance measures and provide regular updates to General Supervisor and Management Team.

· Maintain proper inventory levels.

· Manage department priorities.

· Complete annual performance reviews.

· Track absenteeism and timekeeping.

· Serve as a backup CNC operator if needed.

· Understand and implement Drake Driven Core Values into everyday work habits.

Supervisory Responsibility


This position supervises all employees of the department and is responsible for performance management. 


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work


This is an hourly full-time position regularly requiring 45-55 hours per week.

Requirements

  

Eligibility Qualifications


· High school diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred

· Minimum 3 years of experience in a precision machining environment

· Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

· Understanding of production procedures and Work Instructions

· Knowledge of Quality Systems, gaging, and attention to detail

· Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear, etc.)
