Job Profile Summary
Under general direction, this position provides district-wide leadership in the implementation, quality, and monitoring of institutional assessment and effectiveness processes, focusing on student learning outcomes and operational outcomes. Fosters a culture of assessment and quality improvement. Oversees assessment quality assurance and directs ongoing operations of assessment related to the College’s academic programs, co-curricular, and administrative outcomes assessment. Provides support to academic programs, administrative, and support units in defining outcomes, assessing these outcomes, and using the results to guide future planning, decision making, and continuous improvement. Develops data-informed strategies that support the institution’s accreditation, assessment, curriculum mapping, program review, and data-management efforts aligned with strategic planning. Performs related work as directed.Provides leadership on reporting, solutions to streamline and align existing systems and models, specialized record keeping, compliance assurance, and associated quality assurance to produce accurate, reliable, and current planning and assessment data for internal and external constituents, and a wide range of highly complex associated administrative, assessment, and planning activities in conjunction with other departmental areas and district offices in accordance with the College’s Strategic Plan and College-wide initiatives. Provide expert analytical support in the collection and use of evidence to enhance the College’s continuous improvement capacity.
Minimum Education:
- Master's Degree required. Doctorate degree preferred. Master's degree (MA/MS) in Quantitative and/or Social Science disciplines, such as, Business, Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Education, Analytics, Data Science, Business research methodology or related fields, or any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities suitable for the position.
Minimum Experience/Training:
- Eight years of related experience in higher education including working with regional accreditation, academic and administrative outcomes assessment consultation, program review, quality assurance, faculty/staff training, including five years in management, and three years of experience .
Essential Functions:
- Other - 20%: Provides leadership in the implementation, quality, and monitoring of institutional assessment for the College. - Provides support to academic programs, administrative, and support units in defining outcomes, assessing these outcomes, and using the results to guide future planning, decision making, and continuous improvement.
- 15%: Responsible for supporting the planning and reporting on efforts related to the design and implementation of program review.. Prepares detailed analyses and college-wide reports focused on student learning, quality improvement and accountability key performance indicators. Develops data-informed strategies that support the institution’s accreditation, assessment, curriculum mapping, program review, strategic planning, process improvement, and data-management efforts.
- Other - 10%: Manages and maintains digital content libraries, inventories, and records; implements and maintains data and document management systems. Develops or updates technical and/or administrative correspondence and documentation relative to accreditation, Institutional Planning and Effectiveness, and related correspondence.
- Other - 10%: Supports the strategic planning process and provides appropriate data and analysis. Provides training, and presentations, and serves as a system administrator and point of contact for the accountability management system; facilitates timely completion of program review components and institutional effectiveness plans for all College units. Supports programmatic accreditation as needed.
- Other - 10%: Plans and organizes activities in the research, review, analysis, interpretation and reporting of a variety of data and information. Prepares goal-alignment and annual reports. Coordinates the development, review and submission , regional accreditation, and compliance certification reports.
- Other - 10%: Works closely with the accreditation core review team, steering committees and related accreditation task forces to organize materials, manage on-site visits, schedule appointments, maintain calendars, and facilitate travel arrangements as required.
- Other - 10%: Responsible for policy recommendation, implementation and interpretation as needed.
- Other - 10%: Responsible for people management of the area, including recommendation of staffing, hiring, termination and discipline, setting performance standards and evaluating staff.
- Other - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.
