Job Goal:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics Manager to lead and optimize the end-to-end logistics operations of our expanding textbook distribution business. This role is critical in ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of textbooks and related materials. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth and efficient distribution of textbooks and other goods, from production to delivery, while optimizing costs and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and customers.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- 4 years of hands-on experience and a high school diploma or GED may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
Experience
- 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management, with at least 2 years in a process, vendor, and contract management role
- Experience optimizing warehouse operations to improve efficiency and customer experience.
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in logistics software, inventory management systems, and transportation management tools
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations and compliance standards
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive continuous improvement
- Excellent vendor and contract management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP)
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms
Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Management: Manage all logistics operations, including transportation, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams (customer experience, sales, production, and finance) to ensure seamless coordination of logistics needs.
- Transportation Management: Manage third-party logistics (3PL) transportation providers to optimize customer experience.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, track inventory movements, and maintain accurate records of goods received and shipped.
- Vendor and Supplier Management: Manage vendors, logistics providers and suppliers within contractual obligations.
- Reporting and Analysis: Analyze logistics performance, identify areas for improvement, and generate reports for senior management on key performance metrics.
- Problem Solving: Handle any logistics-related issues, including delivery delays, inventory discrepancies, or transportation challenges.
- Compliance: Ensure all logistics operations are compliant with legal regulations, including health and safety, customs requirements, and environmental standards.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency, cost savings, and customer satisfaction.

- Office-based with occasional travel to warehouses, suppliers, and vendors.
- Flexibility in working hours, especially during peak shipping seasons.
