Job Summary

Under the direction of the Purchasing Services Supervisor, lead, coordinate, and perform a variety of work in the operation and maintenance of the District’s central warehouse, including services such as inventory control and receiving, distribution, and shipping of durable and perishable goods.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience: - Any combination equivalent to: a High School diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience performing a variety of warehouse-related duties including but not limited to order fulfillment, inventory control and analysis, order entry, and inventory accounting/identification. Additional higher education may substitute for some experience. Knowledge of: - Procedures and practices associated with the operations, services, and activities of the central warehouse. - Materials, equipment, and supplies used in District operations. - Principles and practices of team leadership and of scheduling services to optimize the use of available staff. - Warehousing equipment including but not limited to delivery vehicles, pallet jacks, and forklifts. - Warehouse record-keeping techniques including appropriate computer-aided inventory accounting programs. - Sufficient math skills to document work activity, compute counts, extensions, fractions, sums, and quotients. - English language and sufficient communication skills in order to interact on both a formal and informal basis with staff, customers, and vendors. Ability to: - Schedule and coordinate the work in a manner conducive to customer service. - Plan, prioritize, and organize work in order to meet schedules and timelines. - Obtain a forklift certificate and operate this and other labor-saving devices. - Develop inventory storage layouts that enhance efficiency and a safe work environment. - Evaluate inventory trends and cycles. - Write and maintain records according to District standards; write reports and correspondence. - Obtain a food handling safety certificate within a one (1) year of hire.

Salary Info

Placement may be made up through the third step based on experience according to merit system rules.
