As Commercial Controller, you will act as a strategic finance leader and trusted advisor to the Sales and Marketing Directors in the US. You will lead commercial finance strategy, drive data-informed decision-making, and influence cross-functional initiatives to optimize business performance. This role requires a forward-thinking mindset, strong business acumen, and the ability to translate financial insights into strategic actions.
Reporting & Performance Insights:
- Lead the development of performance dashboards and executive-level reporting for Sales & Marketing, ensuring data integrity and relevance.
- Facilitate cross-functional performance reviews, translating financial and KPI trends into strategic recommendations and risk mitigation plans.
- Monitor and interpret business performance against strategic objectives, identifying key drivers and influencing course-correction initiatives.
- Deliver high-impact commercial insights across product categories, customer segments, and channels to support strategic decision-making.
- Guide strategic discussions on sales variance (volume, price, mix) with commercial leadership to inform pricing, portfolio, and channel strategies.
- Champion continuous improvement by identifying structural cost efficiencies and long-term value creation opportunities.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Oversee the strategic planning and budgeting process for commercial volumes, pricing, and trade conditions, aligning with long-term business goals.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Sales and Marketing leadership, challenging assumptions and ensuring forecasts reflect market dynamics and strategic priorities.
Trade Promotion Strategy, COPA & Business Cases:
- Drive the strategic implementation of COPA (Commercial and Profitability Analysis) to enhance decision-making and margin optimization.
- Safeguard the integrity of TPM, COPA and SAP customer pricing conditions to ensure transparency, control, and strategic alignment with promotional investments.
- Evaluate the financial impact of commercial initiatives through pre- and post-action analysis, supporting agile decision-making.
- Deliver comprehensive profitability assessments by customer and product, integrating marketing ROI and cost-to-serve metrics to inform strategic pricing and investment decisions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or STEM is preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in commercial finance, audit, FP&A, or financial controlling is preferred.
- Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving business outcomes.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with SAP, COPA, and BI tools is preferred.
