Job Description:
The Vice-Chancellor of Business Affairs (VCBA) serves as the University's Chief Financial Officer. The VCBA has responsibility for the leadership and management of the university's administrative and finance operations, is a member of the executive management team and reports directly to the Chancellor. The VCBA provides oversight and leadership of Business Affairs, Human Resources, LSUE Auxiliaries, and Physical Plant/Facilities Services. The VCBA is an executive representative of the university campus with internal and external constituents. Louisiana State University Eunice is the two year university campus of the Louisiana State University system.
Primary Responsibilities
55% -Responsible for providing executive level direction and management and oversight of university operations, financial planning, budgeting and budget analysis, accounting and business operations, finance controls and reporting, campus maintenance and development, risk management, insurance and asset protection, purchasing and contracts, mail services and auxiliary contracts.
20% -Serves as the University's fiscal liaison to the LSUE Foundation, LSU system, and state and federal agencies. Provides significant support to the LSUE Foundation in the operation of its finances, compliance and audit requirements.
25% - Provides complex and significant support to the Chancellor and to the University Campus leadership in the form of financial forecasting and information, report preparation, and in knowledge and implementation of state and federal compliance and audit requirements for the University and for all areas of supervision and responsibility which include, Business Affairs, Human Resources and Physical Plant/Facilities.
Position Information
Position is subject to an office environment therefore must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and other office machinery, remain seated for extended periods of time, bend, squat, twist, move about to accomplish tasks, ability to receive and exchange detailed information through oral and written communication, make substantial movements of the wrists, hands, or fingers, and ability to take frequent and long walks through a large, multilevel facility.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, Business Administration, Economics, or other related field of study from a regionally accredited academic institution
or Bachelors Degree with CPA Licensure
5-7 years experience in Leadership and progressively responsible experience in directly related fields of finance, accounting, management, business administration or economics.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, Business Administration, Economics, or other related field of study from a regionally accredited academic institution.
7-10 years experience in Leadership and progressively responsible experience in directly related fields of finance, accounting, management, business administration or economics.
Salary Range: $100,000.00-$130,000.00
Additional Job Description:
The responsibilities of the VCBA require availability during irregular work hours and to perform extended workdays to maintain a leadership/managerial presence on campus or as designated by the Chancellor. This position is responsible for overseeing university campus events, operations and employees during weekends and evenings and for being immediately available when emergency situations occur.
