Assistant Professor of Management

The Department of Management at Salisbury University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Management. This is a full-time tenure-track position expected to begin in August 2026.

Area of Specialization: Entrepreneurship

Primary Job Duties: Teach in-person courses in entrepreneurship and other management courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels while maintaining an active research agenda. We seek candidates who use effective teaching methods. The normal teaching load is 9 hours per semester; for the first two semesters, however, the load is 6 hours per semester.

Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in entrepreneurship, management, or a related field. ABD candidates are eligible if the doctoral degree is completed by August 2026. The doctoral degree must have been earned in an on-campus setting. Capable of meeting AACSB Scholarly Academic/ Academically Qualified (SA/AQ) standards as per the current definitions of the Perdue School of Business. Demonstrated teaching ability and potential for conducting research leading to high-quality publications.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited university or doctoral program of comparable excellence. Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed entrepreneurship journals that are included in the ABDC Journal Quality List and other peer-reviewed journals addressing entrepreneurship. Preference will be given to candidates who have taught entrepreneurship courses. Work experience in entrepreneurship, small business, and related areas is preferred. Previous experience in working with an entrepreneurship center is also preferred.

We seek a candidate who will further develop our entrepreneurship curriculum, which includes Entrepreneurship and Creativity; Design Thinking, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship; Innovation and New Venture Initiation; New Venture Practicum; Organizational and Entrepreneurial Management; and Small Business Consulting, and features minors in entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship. The new hire could help develop an interdisciplinary curriculum to enhance entrepreneurship education across campus. Expectations include support of the Dave and Patsy Rommel Entrepreneurship Center programs such as the Shore Hatchery business competition for Mid-Atlantic startups, the collegiate student business competitions, and high school student idea competitions. The new hire is expected to contribute to service activities in the department, school, university, and community.
