Administrative Assistant – Hospice Physician Department
Summary: The Administrative Assistant plays a key role in supporting the outpatient palliative care program by efficiently managing patient appointments. Responsibilities include scheduling, confirming, and coordinating visits to ensure seamless operations. The role also involves responding to patient inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and performing a full range of secretarial and administrative office duties.
1. Professionally manage all incoming telephone calls and direct them to appropriate staff members
2. Organize daily workflows to ensure accurate triage of new patient referrals and timely handling of nurse practitioner requests
3. Complete patient registration and check-in procedures promptly and accurately
4. Schedule patient appointments in a timely and efficient manner
6 Perform patient check-out duties in accordance with established office protocols
7. Provide secretarial and administrative support, including: ordering and organizing office supplies and marketing materials, updating time sheets and phone directories, drafting correspondence and other documents.
8. Perform other duties as assigned
Work Schedule: 80 Hours Bi-weekly. Full Time. Day Shift
Qualifications/Training:
- Must be proficient in clerical and computer skills
- Must have 1 year experience in a secretarial position with office scheduling knowledge.
- Must have excellent customer service skills with ability to communicate effectively, with compassion to our patients, families, physicians and staff.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school
