PTW Senior Salesforce Engineer I (Hybrid)Job Description
Location: Bengaluru, India (Hybrid)
Department: Kaplan International Pathways – CRM Team
Overview
We’re seeking a Senior Salesforce Developer to play a hands-on technical role within the Pathways CRM team. You’ll translate business needs into scalable, secure solutions on our shared Salesforce platform— reporting to the Head of CRM to turn the product vision into well-engineered, user-friendly features. You’ll lead solution design, uphold engineering standards, and coordinate delivery across multiple business units to ensure changes are robust, compliant, and aligned to platform governance.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
Senior Developer: Lead end-to-end technical design for Pathways workstreams (Sales, Service & Experience Cloud) ensuring scalable, maintainable solutions.
Solution design: Present clear options and trade-offs; drive technical sign-off aligned to the Head of CRM’s prioritised backlog and UX principles.
Standards & patterns: Champion best-practice architecture, naming conventions, and code patterns (Apex, Flows, LWC).
Secure Architecture, Governance & Compliance
Security by design: Implement robust security models (profiles/perm sets, sharing, role hierarchy) and data protection controls.
Shared-tenant governance: Coordinate deployments across teams, adhere to change control and audit requirements, and avoid conflicts in a multi-BU org.
Delivery & Quality Engineering
Build & review: Lead complex build work, perform peer reviews, and coach developers/admins to improve quality and velocity.
DevOps: Use CI/CD and source-driven development (version control, automated tests, static analysis) for safe releases.
Quality gates: Define acceptance criteria and test strategies; ensure unit/integration tests, performance checks and regression coverage.
Continuous improvement: Identify technical debt and bottlenecks; propose pragmatic improvements to reliability and developer productivity.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Partnering: Work closely with Product, Head of CRM, Core Platform, Compliance, Data and business stakeholders to shape feasible, user-centred solutions.
Cross-team coordination: Sequence work with other Salesforce teams (e.g., KOL, KLG, Compliance) to minimise risk in the shared org.
Enablement: Produce clear technical documentation and hand-overs; support demos and explain complex concepts simply.
Platform Operations & Reliability
System health: Run regular health checks, performance tuning and proactive maintenance.
Integration: Build and support resilient integrations and data flows with robust error handling, monitoring and observability.
Tooling & ecosystem: Leverage out-of-the-box capabilities first; extend integrated apps where appropriate (e.g., Conga, Distribution Engine, FormAssembly, Marketing Cloud, Vonage).

Fluent with DevOps/CI/CD for Salesforce (source control, automated testing, pipelines, release management).
Comfortable in Agile delivery (user stories, estimation, sprint ceremonies) with a focus on usability and business value.
Excellent communicator who collaborates with non-technical stakeholders and coaches teammates.
Awareness of GDPR and data protection principles; able to design compliant solutions.
Desirable
Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer II, Application Architect, or Advanced Administrator.
Experience with Marketing Cloud, MuleSoft, or AWS; familiarity with event-driven and API-led integration patterns.
