Senior Test & Implementation Officer

About the Role
As part of Cyber Security NSW, the Capability and Development team work closely with internal and external stakeholders to produce solutions across a broad range of cyber security-based objectives. Projects include the development of software related to incident management, data/information management, data processing/analysis, automation, and other areas relevant to government environments and priorities.
Reporting to the Manager of Capability and Development, the primary purpose of the Senior Test and Quality Implementation Officer is performing all facets of test management and leading the creation and management of a test strategy for the team.
This is a temporary role for approximately 8 months, commencing in late October.
Responsibilities will include:
• Coordinate, plan, manage and perform application acceptance tests within projects.
• Define, communicate, and justify the test strategy and standards, and provide advice and guidance on test planning and execution.
• Develop comprehensive test cases and user scenarios based on functional and non-functional specifications, working with users, stakeholders, and the project team.
• Map tests and variables for test cases, ensuring wide coverage.
• Take responsibility for testing integrity, managing the user/stakeholder relationship across acceptance activities.
• Establish, configure, and use testing tools to automate testing, and interpret, execute, and document complex test scripts using agreed methods and standards.
• Manage all phases of testing, including plans, resources, timescales, and deliverables.
• Create test reports based on the outcomes of testing to track progress and providing metrics/analysis on where defects and issues are occurring more frequently and ensuring that the results of evaluations are understood by the technical team.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
• 5+ years’ experience performing in test/quality roles within complex IT environments.
• Experience and understanding of how software and application systems testing is carried out in a large, diverse organisation to support the efficient and effective delivery of ICT services.
• Experience and understanding of planning, design, management, execution and reporting of tests, conforming to agreed standards.
• Experience in using and configuring testing tools.
• You will have strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate, train, and work with non-technical users; you take initiative, are able to manage yourself, and have a can-do approach.
• Must have Australian citizenship with (or willing and able to obtain and maintain) baseline clearance or higher (Australian permanent residents or visa holders will not be accepted).
• Any other supporting tertiary/industry certifications are highly desirable.
