About this Opportunity:
Students for this position are currently enrolled in a General Engineering, General Business, or Math and Stats program and are team players who possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills, have excellent PC skills (database software and major desktop applications). Knowledge of Manufacturing, Procurement and the electronics industry is also recommended.
The student will develop the following skills and work in the following areas:
- Supply chain/commodity business practices
- Analytical skills
- Advance proficiency in various Microsoft products
- Project management experience
- Global site interaction
Preferred Skills:
- Good written and verbal communication, organization and presentation skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience working with macros is considered an asset
Activities:
- Receive, review and understand product data packages from our external customers
- Interface with manufacturing and supply chain teams to prioritize engineering changes and data setup based on production schedule
- Complete bill of material, component and assembly data set up within Celestica’s internal databases to enable material procurement and manufacturing
- Communicate with external customers to resolve missing and/or inaccurate data
- Understand Cost and Pricing Data Requirements
- Participates in kick-off meetings and interacts with global customer's units as well as counterparts in other regions
- Prepares material pricing independently for new business opportunities (bids) including generation of Bill of Material, cost analysis, negotiation with suppliers, collaboration with Commodity Management and presentation to team leaders and managers.
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams on continuous improvement initiatives as necessary to enhance processes to meet cost, quality, and delivery
- Work guided by detailed instructions, routine, procedure and under close supervision. Will receive detailed instructions on all work assignments
- Opportunity on more complex duties as proficiency improves
- Deals directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members with guidance
- Understand Celestica and Customer requirements and lead projects to ensure to meet Celestica/Customer goals
Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include:
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Education: Enrolled in a formal internship or co-op in Aerospace Engineering, General Engineering, General Business, or a Math and Stats program in a recognized university, completing 3rd of a 4-year program or 4th of 5-year program of study and eligible for an internship program.
