AWS DevOps Engineer


We are seeking an experienced AWS Engineer with strong technical leadership, hands-on experience in AWS cloud architecture, and a DevOps mindset. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of AWS services, infrastructure automation, networking, and security, along with demonstrated success in customer satisfaction and cloud deployment processes. This role requires excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Cloud Application Development: Develop, deploy, and manage cloud applications with a focus on scalability, performance, and security in AWS environments.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and guidance to teams, ensuring effective delegation, sound technical judgment, and communication across all levels.
  • DevOps: Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Terraform, ensuring smooth, automated deployments and infrastructure management.
  • AWS Cloud Architecture: Participate in architecture discussions to strategize around data perimeter, Service Control Policies (SCPs), account migration, IAM strategies, and more.
  • AWS Account Automation: Automate AWS account creation with proper base infrastructure configurations, adhering to organizational policies.
  • Networking & Security: Design and manage AWS Networking (VPC, API Gateway, CloudFront) and Security (IAM, GuardDuty, KMS) to ensure secure and efficient operations.
  • Database & Storage Management: Manage AWS database services (Aurora, DynamoDB, RDS) and storage solutions (S3, EBS).
  • Application Integration & Analytics: Work with application integration services (Step Functions, SNS, SQS) and AWS analytics tools (Glue, Athena).
  • Cost Management: Utilize AWS cost management tools, such as Cost Explorer and Budgets, to manage cloud financials.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform and Terragrunt to automate and scale cloud infrastructure.
  • Logging & Monitoring: Implement logging and monitoring using tools like Splunk and New Relic to maintain system health and performance.
  • Incident Management: Apply ITIL concepts in incident, change, and problem management to maintain service reliability and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 13+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years with AWS.
  • 5 years of cloud application development and deployment experience.
  • 5 years of demonstrated technical leadership with strong communication and delegation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, pipelines, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
  • 2 years of experience in AWS Cloud Architecture, Networking, and Security.
  • 5 years of experience with AWS Compute, Security, and Database systems.
  • 2 years of experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation.
  • Proven experience with AWS Analytics, Containers (EKS, ECS), and Cloud Financial Management.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Boto3, PowerShell, and Shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with security and risk mitigation tools such as Prisma and Wiz.
  • ITIL and Agile knowledge for managing incidents and change requests.

Certifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
  • Aviatrix or HashiCorp Terraform certification is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience with multi-cloud environments and networking tools such as Aviatrix.
  • Experience in cloud governance, risk mitigation, and security operations.
