As the Corporate Tax Senior Associate of our Methods, Credits, and Incentives (MC&I) practice, you’ll be responsible for implementing, and executing R&D tax credit, accounting method, and fixed asset studies for your clients all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel. You’ll collaborate with the MC&I leadership and use specialized tax resources. From day one, you’ll be empowered by leading, developing and mentoring assigned engagement teams, as well as potentially participating in related marketing and sales aspects of the engagements to ensure all client projects are conducted in accordance with firm standards, completed on time, and within budget, and help you achieve more, confidently.
Your day-to-day may include:
- Assist in conducting client engagement fieldwork such as visiting the client location, investigating the relevant facts identified, analyzing all applicable accounting information, completing the appropriate tax computations and preparation of written memorandums that summarize the engagement team findings
- Participate in numerous client projects and tasks simultaneously
- Participate in professional development and training sessions on a regular basis
- Other duties as assigned
You have the following technical skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Master's or Ph.D. in Accounting or Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Financial Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Industrial Engineering or Operations Research preferred
- CPA or a legal background (J.D., LLM) is preferred
- Two years of relevant work experience in a Tax environment. Experience in a Big 4 firm, a comparable size public accounting firm or consulting firm is preferred
- An intermediate understanding of tax return mechanics is required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Candidate must demonstrate ability to manage time, manage multiple projects, and meet client deadlines
- Candidate must have solid abilities to analyze and summarize data with accuracy
- Candidate must demonstrate experience working as a productive member of a team
- Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites as required is expected
