Project Manager Intern, Implementation
Smart Data Solutions, a leading provider of data management, claim routing and workflow solutions to health plans and TPAs, is looking for Project Manager Interns to join our team!
The position is responsible for project managing successful deployment of Smart Data Solution products across various healthcare customers, ensuring seamless integration, timely execution, and customer satisfaction. This role involves working closely with customers, engineering, client partners and internal stakeholders to implement solutions that ensures operational efficiency, aligns with business goals, and enhances customer satisfaction through seamless onboarding and adoption.
What you’ll be doing?
Project & Program Management:
- Plan, execute and oversee the end-to-end implementation of the Smart Data Solution products, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth implementation.
- Develop and manage a detailed project plan to align with budget and forecast
- Organize project update meetings and associated agendas
- Track project deliverables, dependencies, and due dates
- Manage change control, issues/risk management and reporting
- Manage project team escalations for resolution
- Maintain communication between all team members regarding due deliverables, and make appropriate adjustments to ensure that all due dates are met
Customer & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the implementation process.
- Conduct client needs assessments, gap analyses, and workflow mapping.
- Facilitate regular status meetings, progress reports, and executive briefings.
- Train end-users and provide support to optimize system adoption
Technical & Process Integration
- Assist in translating business rules into technical specifications
- Build testing plans and assist during testing phases.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical or operational issues during deployment.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success.
- Document best practices and lessons learned for process enhancement
- Leverage analytics and reporting to identify inefficiencies and implement data-driven process improvements.
- Identify opportunities for automation, self-service tools, and technology enhancements to streamline implementation.

What we’re looking for?
Required skills:
Education and Experience
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in healthcare administration, information systems, business analysis, or a related field.
- Experience in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.).
- Ability to analyze data and metrics to drive strategic decisions and process improvements.
- Coursework or projects in business management, project management, data analytics, or related fields
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a bonus
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client relationship skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing priorities.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to manage tasks, work with stakeholders, and support business initiatives.
Location: This role can be located in our Dallas, TX or Eagan, MN office. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in-office per week.
