Job Summary

The COE Operations Excellence – JM role applies developing business process and project management skills to support initiatives within a business or technical specialty. Working under the supervision of a project manager, the incumbent manages small portions of well-defined projects while providing administrative, analytical, and logistical support to project teams. The position contributes to project planning, execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement activities to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a support resource on projects and work assignments, developing knowledge in project management and business processes.
  • Assist in identifying, tracking, and resolving project issues; build capability to do this independently.
  • Monitor and communicate project status to stakeholders and team members.
  • Provide support in budget planning, expense tracking, and analytical research.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining project plans, timelines, and supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to project risk management by applying quality tools to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Support documentation, lessons learned, and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Maintain project notes, databases, and performance measures; provide updates to project managers.

Qualifications and Skills

Education, Licenses, and Certifications (External)

  • High school diploma or secondary education certificate required; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • College or equivalent degree preferred.
  • May require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Qualifications

Experience (External)

  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through training or on-the-job experience.

Internal Candidate Qualifications

  • Engineering graduate with 3–5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering and Lean Management.
  • Proven expertise in:
    1. Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
    2. Bottleneck management
    3. 5S methodology
    4. Industry 4.0 practices
    5. Expense and project management
    6. Team-based work systems
    7. Kaizen initiatives
    8. Industrial ergonomics
