Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead and oversee all aspects of Human Resources across our U.S. and Jamaican operations. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CHRO will drive HR strategy and execution in alignment with the organization’s mission, business goals, and compliance requirements. This leader will oversee Human Resources, Recruitment, Labor Relations, Benefits, and Organizational Leadership, ensuring our workforce is engaged, supported, and equipped to deliver outstanding service in the ground handling industry.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team on HR, labor, and organizational matters.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with operational goals across multi-state and international locations.
  • Build and lead a high-performing HR function that drives employee engagement, productivity, and retention.

Human Resources & Compliance

  • Oversee employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, performance management, workforce planning, and employee relations.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as Jamaican labor regulations.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices to support organizational growth and regulatory requirements.

Recruitment & Talent Management

  • Lead recruitment strategies to attract, retain, and develop talent across diverse markets.
  • Implement workforce planning and succession planning to meet the evolving needs of the ground handling industry.
  • Foster partnerships with airports, unions, and industry organizations to strengthen talent pipelines.

Labor & Employee Relations

  • Direct all labor relations efforts including union negotiations, grievance resolution, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Build positive employee relations programs to foster engagement and reduce turnover.
  • Partner with local leadership to address workforce challenges unique to each location.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Oversee the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs across the U.S. and Jamaica.
  • Ensure equitable practices and compliance with market benchmarks and regulatory standards.
  • Drive initiatives to improve employee well-being, health, and safety.

Organizational Leadership & Development

  • Champion a culture of inclusion, diversity, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead leadership development, training, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Support the alignment of business and people strategies to drive performance and long-term success.

 

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • SHRM Certifications strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in an executive role.
  • Proven experience in aviation, ground handling, or transportation/logistics industries strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in multi-state and international HR operations.
  • Strong knowledge of S. labor laws and union environments.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

 

Travel

This position required flexibility according to executive and operational requirements

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role and requires being able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally, the person in this position is required to move/traverse inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. The person in this position regularly communicates with others in person, by phone, or by correspondence.
