The Opportunity

By 2030, Uride will bring essential mobility – and beyond – to 1,000 cities, 10 million riders, and 100 million rides per year. To get there, Uride is shifting from opportunistic feature delivery to a focused, outcome-driven product organization. We seek a product leader to set a crisp vision, align the roadmap to business metrics, and guide a phased transition off critical vendor dependencies while preparing for geographic expansion and vertical growth.

Location: Toronto/Canada (hybrid, with in-office presence expected 2-3x/week)
Reports to: CEO
Partners with: Heads of Engineering & Operations

Your Mission

  • Grow the Business. Partner up with Business Development and Operations to scale towards and beyond triple digit million CAN$ yearly revenue.
  • Own the Product Strategy & the KPI tree. Define the Product’s North Star and the metrics that matter most for our customers and our business (e.g. activation to first ride, p95 pickup ETA, trip success, retention, cost/ride), and align portfolio bets to move them.
  • Run Discovery-to-Decision. Lead customer research, Jobs-To-Be-Done, journey mapping, and rapid prototyping; frame problems and success criteria before we commit software engineering capacity.
  • Prioritize the Portfolio. Maintain a transparent, outcomes-based roadmap and quarterly bets; make trade-offs explicit across rider, driver, operations, and growth.
  • Design Moments of Delight. Partner with Designers on end-to-end rider/driver flows (e.g. onboarding, dispatch, in-trip, support), balancing simplicity with differentiation.
  • Stay close to Customers & Launches. Spend time in the field – ride-alongs with drivers, rider interviews, support shadowing, community events – and be on-site for new city/feature launches to validate hypotheses in real time, capture feedback, and tune onboarding, pricing, and playbooks in the first weeks.
  • Steer Marketplace Health. Define policies and product levers for supply/demand balance, incentives, cancellations, and fraud/risk in partnership with Operations & Data.
  • Price, Package, and Position. Collaborate with Finance/GTM on pricing experiments, promos, and market entry/expansion hypotheses; tie them to margin and LTV/CAC.
  • Drive the Re-platforming Agenda from the user lens. Specify the capabilities we must own (vs. buy/rent), sequence dependency reduction to protect customer experience, and measure impact on metrics.
  • Elevate Product Operations. Install experiment reviews, release notes, post-launch readouts, and feedback loops with Customer Support and Operations, so learnings compound.
  • Use AI to speed-up Product work. Apply AI for research synthesis, feedback clustering, PRD drafts, experiment analysis – and enforce guardrails for data privacy (PII).

What success looks like (within 12 months)

  • Growth: Horizontal expansion in proven market – 30+ new cities/communities launched.
  • Delivery: Operationalize the Big-Hairy-Audacious-Goal – translate Company vision into Product Vision, Strategy, clear metrics, and end-to-end accountability from inception to delivery.
  • Impact: Faster activation; first ride, improved p95 pickup ETA, higher trip success, better rider/driver retention, and lower cost/ride on priority lanes.
  • Clarity: Published Product Vision and North Star, KPI tree, and a ruthlessly prioritized roadmap with visible trade-offs and sequencing.
  • Execution: Stable planning cadence, fewer context switches, shipped experiments with clear learnings and follow-ups.
  • Platform Progress: Customer-felt wins from new platform strategy; critical customer-facing flows owned end-to-end with SLAs and monitoring.
  • Insights: Trustworthy instrumentation and decision narratives that connect releases to KPI movement.

What you bring

  • Product-first, metric-driven Leadership. You tie strategy to customer and revenue outcomes and make tough trade-offs explicit.
  • Marketplace/Mobility Fluency. You’ve managed two-sided dynamics (dispatch, pricing/incentives, cancellations, fraud/risk, payments, geospatial UX) and have launched high-growth service offerings.
  • Relentless Delivery Execution: You are in the details, uncompromising on accountability and clear on expectations.
  • Discovery & Experimentation Rigor. You have run qualitative & quantitative experiments, craft event taxonomies, design solid A/Bs/holdouts, and call results cleanly.
  • Portfolio & Prioritization Muscle. You simplify scope, say ‘no’ well, and sequence bets for compounding impact.
  • Design Partnership. You co-create clear, low-friction experiences and can critique UX at the interaction and system level.
  • Data-informed Storytelling. You build crisp narratives from dashboards and research that align execs, board, and teams.
  • Privacy & Compliance Literacy. You’ve shipped consumer experiences with GDPR-aligned consent and Data Subject Request (DSR) flows.
  • AI-assisted Product Practice. Hands-on with AI for synthesis, ideation, comms – with sensible governance.
  • People Leadership. You hire, coach, and create psychological safety; you set clear ownership, set ambitious expectations and raise the bar.
  • High EQ, low ego: You lead front and center, never from up and above; you can do the work of their team and show what good looks like.
  • Nice to have: Ride-hailing or logistics experience; payments (e.g., Stripe), growth experimentation; OLAP/BI stacks (Snowflake, dbt, Metabase).

Compensation & Perks

  • Travel to Uride markets and global launches and see your tech product in the real world
  • Be part of a leadership team committed to co-ownership and operational excellence
