TGS is looking for an International Tax Manager to join the Tax team in Weybridge, Surrey, England.

Reporting to the Head of Tax - AMME & UK in England, you will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of challenging tasks. The tasks are mainly related to corporate tax. Since we work in teams, you may also be exposed to individual taxation matters from time to time. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in international tax, with strong financial and commercial acumen.
  • Proven ability to manage complex tax processes and mitigate risk.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across departments.
  • A professional qualification such as ACA, CTA, or an equivalent legal credential.
  • Experience from a Big 4 firm is highly desirable but not essential.

Purpose & Scope: 

  • The International Tax Manager will be part of a global tax team and will contribute to overseeing and managing the tax affairs of a designated region within the organization. This role ensures compliance with regional tax regulations, optimizes tax liabilities, and provides tax advice to support business objectives. 
  • The role cooperates closely with the Business Development and sales teams, Accounting and Business Control, to manage the area of responsibility. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations for the relevant group entities, including filing tax returns and meeting reporting requirements. 
  • Tax Reporting: Prepare and review tax reporting for the regions’ group entities, supporting finance through the statutory audits.
  • Tax Accounting: Contribute to quarterly provision work according to applicable processes and tax contingency analysis for the relevant group entities. 
  • Tax Audits: Contribute to handling requests from and communication with tax authorities in the region. 
  • Tax Planning and Strategy: Assist the Head of Tax to develop and implement tax planning strategies for new activities and projects to minimize the impact of taxation to the business and support business goals, including reducing compliance burdens through streamlining processes and business structure where appropriate. 
  • Tax Support to projects: Provide support and tax advice for projects to ensure that tax costs are optimized and included in project costing. Supporting ongoing projects with tax compliance and minimizing tax exposures. 
  • Tax Research and Analysis: Stay current on changes in regional tax laws and conduct research to determine the impact on the organization. 
  • Transfer Pricing: Contribute to the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and compliance with regional transfer pricing regulations in cooperation with the rest of the tax team.  
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with Business Development and sales teams throughout the organization, finance, legal, and other departments to provide tax advice and support on business transactions and initiatives. 

Key Competencies: 

  • 5+ years international tax and financial capabilities combined with good business understanding. 
  • Ability to manage complex processes with a high level of tax risk. 
  • Collaborative mindset, ability to manage external and internal relationships, and strong communication skills.
