The Student Success Data Intern position is ideal for a student interested in statistical analysis and education. This position is also a great experience for a student majoring in math or computer science who may be interested in a career related to data analysis and research. The successful candidate will report to the Associate Director of the Institute for Student Success and work an average of 8 hours per week for the semester.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality related to all information and reports
- Analyze Ursinus-specific data related to our Early Alerts system and student academic performance
- Develop strategies for meaningful qualitative analysis
- Create reports, infographics, etc as needed
- Respond in a timely fashion to inquiries and complete tasks to assigned deadlines
Learning outcomes:
Student will identify appropriate data features for performing qualitative data analysis
Student will implement solutions that apply analytical algorithms or statistical models on datasets
Student will aggregate quantitative outcomes to inferences about the patterns identified in the data
Student will prepare and present a report on their findings
Requirements:
- Current full-time student at Ursinus College with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
- Current Ursinus upperclassman with demonstrated skills in data analysis
- Demonstrated reliability and initiative
- Ability to both work independently and work as part of a team
Compensation:
This position is for the semester of Spring 2026 for roughly 8 hours per week (for a total of 120 hours) throughout the 14 weeks of the semester with a stipend of $1000.
This position is eligible for a 3-credit internship in the Spring 2026 semester, pending the approval of a faculty advisor within the Math/CS department and completion of the internship process (detailed here: https://www.ursinus.edu/offices/career-and-professional-development/internships-and-externships/internship-basics-policies/)
The hours are flexible to work within the candidate’s class schedule. Work will be completed both in-person in the ISS office and remotely.
