About the Department
The Accounts Receivable Finance Technician, under general supervision, is responsible for accounting support and administrative work and typically performs clerical and data-entry work in the maintenance of financial records as they relate to accounts receivable transactions, records and receipts.
Position Duties
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare daily deposits utilizing desktop deposit and Safevantage banking products.
- Reconcile daily deposits from internal departments and import them into financial software.
- Process the disbursements of pass-through taxes (fire districts and municipalities) timely and efficiently.
- Responsible for importing and reconciling other billing receipts as applicable to the department.
- Process occupancy and rental vehicle tax and prepare distributions.
- Monitor daily bank transactions and post electronic payments.
- Provide customer service to internal and external customers via telephone, in person and by email.
- Ensure departments within the County and vendors doing business with the County are aware of Alamance County accounts receivable procedures and processes.
- Carry out a continuous effort to improve operations, work processes, and provide customer-driven service.
- Perform other assignments and projects as needed to support the Finance office.

Other Qualifications
Education & Experience:Graduation from a high school including or supplemented by basic courses in bookkeeping or accounting and two years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting clerical work in an accounting office; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of a one-year business course in a business school including or supplemented by courses in bookkeeping or accounting may be substituted for the required experience.
Computer Skills: Prior intermediate level experience with computers, calculators, Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
License/Credentials: Possession of a valid NC driver’s license.
