The Ideal Candidate
- Mechanically minded with hands-on experience with machinery breakdowns and repairs (Essential i.e. industrial equipment, motor vehicle etc).
- Experience of working in the food industry (Not essential).
- Further education in mechanical/ engineering desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work unsupervised (although advice and guidance will be available where required).
- Analytical- problem solver with an ability to work on your own initiative while also being able to work collaboratively with others.
- Ability to think on your feet, managing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Self-confident and motivated, with a desire to pursue further learning and skills development when offered.
- Happy to get dirty - Exposure to seafood and associated production smells.
- Demonstrates integrity, flexibility, and adherence to protocol.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Issue Permits to Work (PTWs) and review Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMs).
- Host contractors and visitors, ensuring compliance with site policies and procedures.
- Perform mechanical Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across site machinery.
- Set up and change over machinery and equipment to meet production needs.
- Conduct machinery checks in line with food safety, health & safety, and site guidelines.
- Complete handovers to Production, Hygiene, and Technical teams.
- Minimize downtime while maintaining safety and food quality standards.
- Report faults and proactively prevent machinery breakdowns.
- Support Engineers during breakdowns.
- Monitor equipment performance and take corrective action when needed.
- Educate Operatives to take ownership and care of machinery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for long-term equipment reliability.
- Apply financial discipline to ensure cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Maintain a continual visual check of machines and yields throughout the shift.
- Independently generate ideas to improve performance in the working area.
