Roles & responsibilities :
As DevOps Engineer Senior Specialist your primary focus will be on monitoring, answering support calls and providing resolution to production issues for the applications during the US night hours.
- Your secondary responsibility will be to contribute to the development and infrastructural enhancements of the covered applications.
- In this role you will facilitate collaboration between software development and IT operations teams to streamline software delivery and infrastructure changes.
- Key responsibilities encompass answering support calls and providing resolution to urgent production issues, with hands-on expertise in process automation, infrastructure management through code, and the establishment of continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- The crucial proficiencies include automation tools, cloud services, software development practices, and system administration techniques, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of modern IT environments.
- Additional critical proficiencies will include software development, building microservices, RESTful API and browser-based user interfaces. Besides working closely with your colleagues in Mumbai you will also work closely with Nasdaq teams in other countries.
What we expect you to have :
- At least 7 years of experience as a DevOps engineer, with contributions to software development.
- Hands-on Java development experience.
- AWS experience.
- Terraform expertise.
- CI/CD pipeline experience.
- Containers expertise (Docker and Kubernetes).
- Basic SQL knowledge.
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Python, HTML, React JS.
- Proficiency with Linux commands and utilities including Bash scripting.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills that enable you to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Good communication and collaboration skills that enable you to work well with developers, stakeholders, and users.
- Passion for learning new technologies and staying updated with industry trends that help you improve your skills and knowledge.
- Creativity and innovation in creating solutions that meet user needs and expectations and deliver value to the business.
- Attention to detail and quality assurance to ensure your software products are of high quality and meet the standards and requirements.
- Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and cope with changing priorities and deadlines.
- A genuine interest in the financial industry and learning about the markets, products, and services that Nasdaq offers.
Education Qualification:
- Degree qualified in a discipline related to Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
Good to have :
Knowledge of Equities trading
Experience with real-time, high-throughput applications.
Understanding of data lakes and data-warehousing.
Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Kafka, relational database.
Build tools: Maven and Git.
Java Frameworks (Keycloak, OpenSearch).
JSON, RESTful web-services and Microservices.
Web-security skills: SAML, encryption, certificates, web attack protection.
JUnit, automated testing and test-driven development experience.
