The Clinical Trials Office is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Research Financial Analyst to join our growing research finance team. This pre-award position plays a critical role in supporting the financial infrastructure of clinical research by developing, reviewing, and negotiating budgets for industry-sponsored, federally funded, and investigator-initiated clinical trials.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical research finance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with investigators, study teams, sponsors, and institutional stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Develop and negotiate clinical trial budgets in collaboration with investigators and study teams, ensuring alignment with protocol requirements and institutional policies.
- Perform detailed cost analyses and build comprehensive budget templates for various funding mechanisms (industry, federal, foundation).
- Review sponsor budgets and contracts to ensure financial feasibility and compliance with institutional and sponsor guidelines.
- Coordinate with Legal and External Vendors to support timely study activation.
- Provide financial guidance to investigators and research staff during the pre-award phase.
- Maintain accurate documentation of budget negotiations and approvals in institutional systems.
- Assist in the development and refinement of tools, templates, and processes to improve pre-award efficiency and accuracy.
- Train and mentor analysts as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
Top candidates will have a background in Finance or Accounting, ideally, pre-award financial experience.
- Prior experience working in a healthcare setting preferable.
Proficiency with Excel to include V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, Formulas.
