Summary

Buckle’s Marketing Internship is designed to engage students in a team environment through access to hands-on marketing projects, networking, and development opportunities.  Each intern will be assigned to one of the following areas: Graphic Design, Social Media, Photo Studio or Copywriting. The Marketing intern will contribute to the business while gaining valuable exposure to working within a large omni-channel marketing team learning how to engage with a target audience while aligning marketing strategy and business goals.

Photo Studio

  • Collaborate with Creative Image team on daily projects to support the needs of the company.
  • Utilize an understanding of the Buckle image, philosophy, and goals to promote that image to guests and teammates.
  • Set up and prep gear for photo shoot
  • Assist the creative image team with daily style projects, which include photo shoots and other specialized product projects.
  • Learn studio and natural lighting to run studio lighting during photo shoot.
  • Assist with research, conception, preparation, and execution of creative content.
  • Learn how to use fills, reflectors, and diffusion materials, as these are basics for assisting on photo shoots
  • Assist teams with merchandise prep, handling, and tracking
  • Work with asset management team on image uploads and metadata

Copywriter

Create copy across all channel touch-points that engages and connects with Buckle Guests. Including but not limited to: brand, evergreen, and seasonal campaigns, Buckle Credit Card and Guest Loyalty marketing, social media, editorial and public relations, buckle.com, email content, and in-store signage

  • Collaborate across departments to create, edit, and/or proofread internal and external content.
  • Maintain Buckle's brand standards and voice, ensuring consistent communication and execution across all marketing touch-points.
  • Evaluate, review/edit, and proofread content.
  • Produce high-quality, error-free content that adheres to company style guide.
  • Develop concepts for both internal and external videos, where applicable, including concepting and engage our guests. 

Social Media

  • Conceptualize, write, and edit marketing and promotional content for various channels.
  • Plan, schedule, and post content on Buckle’s social media channels.
  • Brainstorm and create marketing campaigns.
  • Innovate new ideas for Buckle’s overall marketing plan.
  • Assist with brand advocacy and influencer outreach.
  • Proofread and copy edit.
  • Communicate with project leads, stakeholders, and vendors when applicable.
  • Assist social media and communications teams with specialized projects.

Graphic Design

  • Present creative concepts and designs for review and consideration.
  • Participate in the archival and organization process for managing and maintaining digital asset.
  • Collaborate with key project stakeholder for design vision and goals.
  • Work with marketing team to define and follow the brand style guide, as well as campaign collateral ensuring a cohesive look and feel.
  • Gather requirements from marketing and various business users involved in the project.
  • Translate feedback and input into excellent creative, building consensus among internal stakeholders.
  • Design creative components for approved content projects. Including, but not limited to, presentations, print and digital collateral, and promotions.
  • Actively participate in concept and design of brand assets, continually refreshing assets to evolve with marketing strategy and consumer insights.
  • Design creative components of trade and retail marketing programs including, but not limited to, manager meetings collateral, in-store collateral like window clings and, brand and seasonal campaign collateral.
  • Perform production tasks including uploading backgrounds, banner, navigational elements, graphic images, icons, titles, etc.
  • Adhere to project schedules and effectively report progress to meet challenging deadlines.

All Marketing Interns

  • Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferably in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Studio Art, Computer Science or a related degree program.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Teammate regularly works in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
