Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Monitor network traffic, system logs, and security alerts to detect and respond to threats
  • Maintain and improve security in AWS by managing IAM, monitoring for threats, and ensuring compliance with standards
  • Perform penetration tests to identify and help remediate security gaps
  • Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees
  • Investigate and remediate security incidents, including malware infections, phishing attempts, and unauthorized access
  • Manage distributed EDR / XDR platform
  • Maintain and configure security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems
  • Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to implement secure configurations and best practices
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and standards
  • Support compliance efforts (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS) through documentation and audits
  • Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience supporting hundreds of end users in medium to large sized organizations
  • 5+ years of experience in IT security or related role
  • 2+ years of AWS experience, AWS certification preferred (SCS-C02)
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, Log360) and endpoint protection platforms
  • Understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud environments
  • Experience with incident response and forensic analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Microsoft Defender experience
  • Microsoft Intune experience
  • Azure authentication experience
  • Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP (preferred but not required)

Reporting Structure and Location:

  • This position will report directly to the Director of IT I&O and is based out of Frisco, Texas.

 

Travel: Up to 10% as required for business and customer events
