Job Summary

Under the direction of the Chief Business Official, the Director of Facilities and Maintenance provides strategic leadership and day-to-day management of HCCTS facilities, maintenance, grounds, custodial services, safety, asset management, purchasing/inventory, and capital projects. The position oversees facilities planning, construction and maintenance, energy efficiency, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and partner/vendor coordination. The Director collaborates with the CBO and Executive Leadership to ensure safe, accessible, sustainable, and high-quality learning environments that support student achievement. This role serves as the primary liaison with landlords, architects, contractors, city/state agencies, and internal stakeholders. (Please read the job description before applying for this position.)

Requirements / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, construction management, facilities management, or a related field (preferred). . Five or more years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in facilities/maintenance/operations, with experience in planning, construction, and procurement (preferred). . Experience in K-12, charter, or public-sector facilities management is advantageous. . Manage record keeping, office organization, and clerical skills. . Knowledge of modern facility management, school planning, public procurement, and capital project processes. . Understanding of state funding, grants, bond programs, and facilities applications. . Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations (CAL/OSHA, EPA), environmental health and safety, risk management, and sustainability practices. . Budgeting, financial analysis, and cost-control capabilities. . Proficiency with facility management software, project management tools, and standard office software. . Ability to communicate with a diverse community. . Directing and providing leadership to staff. . Effectively organize, manage, and direct the work of others; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. . Requires sufficient math skills to compile alphanumeric data, statistics, and trends. . Meet schedules and timelines. . Effectively present complex policy and practice information to multiple audiences via oral and written media. . Encourages and motivates employees to enhance individual skills, promote professional growth to maximize staff performance. Supports successful employee transition to work duty changes. . Provide proof of the possession of a valid California driver's license.
