Job Title: Rework Operator (Soldering)
Department: Production
Location: Wilmer, Texas
Shift: C Shift (12-hour shifts, 4-3 / 3-4 rotation)
Shift Schedule:
Off 4 days: Sunday – Wednesday | On 3 days: Thursday – Saturday
Off 3 days: Sunday – Tuesday | On 4 days: Wednesday – Saturday
Position Overview:
The Rework Operator is responsible for executing daily rework tasks on solar modules, with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring safety compliance. This role involves using specialized soldering equipment to make precise connections and repairs on components. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform rework and repairs of solar cell strings and modules using soldering techniques
Maintain and troubleshoot soldering and workstation equipment
Ensure accurate temperature settings on soldering tools using test equipment
Inspect and verify the quality of soldering through visual and electrical testing
Assemble circuits requiring fine hand soldering and detailed work
Read and verify cell labels for grade, manufacturer, and color series
Communicate effectively with oncoming shifts to ensure a smooth handover
Participate in 5S activities to maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all safety protocols and operational procedures
Document rework activities as required
Assist in training team members on soldering and rework techniques
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
One year or more of soldering experience preferred
Ability to read and understand technical documents and work instructions
Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
Ability to meet production targets in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
