We are seeking a versatile and experienced Project Manager / Project Engineer to join our Engineering and Projects team. In this dual-role position, you will support existing projects while leading others, playing a key role in delivering both capital and expense projects at an industrial conversion facility.
This role combines project management leadership with technical engineering expertise (electrical, mechanical, or civil), giving you the opportunity to directly impact facility performance, safety, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support projects from concept through completion, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
- Work closely with internal customers and stakeholders to define business needs, develop conceptual solutions, gain buy-in, and present recommendations to management.
- Develop detailed scopes of work, schedules, and budgets; prepare and submit funding requests.
- Provide engineering design, technical expertise, and support for facility upgrades, improvements, and ongoing operations.
- Prepare requests for proposals, evaluate bids, and manage contracts and contractor performance.
- Monitor project performance, provide regular cost/schedule reporting, and ensure timely completion.
- Ensure all solutions comply with internal standards, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements, while maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards.
- Manage multiple smaller projects simultaneously (typically under $2M) or oversee larger, complex projects with budgets exceeding $50M.
Note * This role is on-site in Port Hope, Monday to Friday.

Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of industrial experience in engineering and project execution
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a P.Eng designation (licensed in Ontario)
- Proven hands-on experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical, mechanical, or piping systems
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction management, and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects in industrial or heavy industrial environments
- Strong task management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and balance competing priorities
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and adaptability skills
Assets
- Experience in chemical, petrochemical, or continuous plant operations
- Background in nuclear or highly regulated facilities
- Experience managing large multi-disciplinary projects with budgets exceeding $50M
- Proficiency with SAP, particularly Project Systems
