At Wellways, we believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive, no matter the challenges they face. Through the Youth Community Living Support Services (YCLSS) program, you’ll support young people aged 15–24 experiencing serious mental health challenges to build confidence, independence and hope for the future.

What is YCLSS?
YCLSS is a government-funded, community-based program designed to empower young people living with mental illness. By providing psychosocial support, the program helps participants stay connected to their communities, pursue education or employment, manage mental health and find stable housing. With Local Health District partners, we provide coordinated, holistic care that supports not just individuals but their families and futures.
About the opportunity
As a Mental Health Recovery worker, you will support young people in key areas such as social skills, leadership, decision-making and resilience.
In this rewarding role you'll walk alongside young people on their recovery journey.
- Co-design recovery plans that focus on self-determination, resilience and meaningful goals
- Support the development of life skills, community connections and emotional wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with families and clinicians to ensure safe, trauma-informed care
- Use tools like the Wellify app to track progress and celebrate wins
- Guide participants in areas such as social skills, leadership and building natural supports for long-term success

Pre engagement requirements
- Completion of the Certificate 4 in Mental Health, Certificate 4 in Mental Health Peer Work or Certificate 4 in Community Services, or equivalent practical experience working in a mental health role.
- Rights to work in Australia and A current and valid Driver’s License
- Satisfactory Police Records Check [less than 12 months old]
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
- NDIS Workers Orientation “Quality Safety and You” – free online course
