About the team
Government Shared Services (GSS) is a new division in DCS that is leading the way in streamlining processes and transactional shared services to allow our people to better focus on their customers and delivering their services.

We are developing and delivering a roadmap to leverage technology, streamline processes, replace legacy systems and deliver a consistent experience to more than 100+ agencies across 8 NSW Government Departments.

The HR Process Operations team within in Government Shared Services Business Process Operations is a team that provides payroll services to NSW Government employees. It is a fast paced, high energy team, where no two days are the same. This role provides administrative support to the Payroll team members and managers to ensure efficient and accurate processing of payroll related transactions.

What you will do

  • Provide administrative support to the payroll team to allow efficient and accurate processing of payroll for all employees.
  • Provide quality customer service, internally in the department and externally to customers and stakeholders.
  • Manage day to day workloads to ensure completion of tasks within agreed timeframes.

About You

The successful candidate should demonstrate strong capabilities in:

  • A willingness to learn new tasks and support the payroll team
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and on the phone
  • Experience working in a shared service, transactional environment
  • Experience using MS Office products
  • Experience using SAP is ideal
