Job Description
Acciona Agua Australia, a global leader in sustainable water infrastructure, is inviting expressions of interest for an Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineering Lead to support the delivery of major water projects across New South Wales.
This key leadership role will contribute to the successful execution of large-scale infrastructure initiatives, including desalination and conventional water treatment facilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong I&C engineering expertise, project delivery experience, and a collaborative approach to driving performance and innovation within the water sector.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery Leadership
Lead the I&C design, implementation, and commissioning of major water infrastructure projects.
Provide senior technical oversight during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Ensure compliance with control system design intent, technical specifications, and project milestones.
Resolve complex technical issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Tendering & Design Support
Collaborate with bid teams to ensure I&C design alignment during tender phases.
Review and refine technical documentation, cost estimates, and control system strategies.
Support the development of competitive and compliant proposals.
Procurement & Coordination
Work closely with procurement teams to define I&C scopes and technical requirements.
Oversee vendor engagement, RFQ processes, and equipment selection for control systems and instrumentation.
Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless delivery.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a key technical liaison with clients and project partners.
Present I&C solutions and lead discussions to ensure stakeholder confidence.
Foster strong relationships to support future project opportunities.
Required Skills and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in I&C project delivery or technical tendering within infrastructure or water sectors.
Proven leadership in instrumentation and control system design, integration, and delivery for desalination or water treatment projects.
Strong understanding of control systems, SCADA, PLC programming, instrumentation selection, and installation practices.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience with procurement processes, vendor coordination, and technical specifications for I&C equipment.
Ability to lead under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Willingness to travel interstate and internationally as required.
Experience with digital engineering platforms (e.g., BIM, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar) is highly regarded.
