We are seeking skilled Sterile Processing Technicians Technicians – Sterile Processing to support the Fresno VA Health Care System. In this vital role, you will ensure reusable medical devices and surgical instruments are meticulously cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for patient care across inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and community living centers. Fresno VA Health Care System – Fresno, California
WORK SCHEDULE:
Two shifts available: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts)
PAY RATE:
$25.00 -$26.00 per hour

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Clean, decontaminate, sterilize, and reassemble reusable medical devices (RMDs) and surgical instruments per AAMI, AORN, FDA, and OSHA guidelines
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, V-Pro, machine washers, and ultrasonics in accordance with manufacturer instructions for use (MIFU)
- Inspect instruments for damage, wear, or malfunction; ensure proper packaging and labeling to maintain sterility
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance activities
- Support compliance with all federal, state, and facility protocols for sterile processing
- Train and mentor new staff members in sterile processing procedures and best practices
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Minimum of 2 years' recent experience as a Medical Supply Technician – Sterile Processing
- Competency in sterile processing procedures, equipment operation, and compliance with national standards
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
- Knowledge of AAMI, AORN, FDA, and OSHA guidelines for instrument sterilization and handling
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and ability to follow manufacturer instructions for use (MIFU)
- Ability to work assigned shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM), Monday through Friday
