Position Overview

Crown Power & Equipment is seeking a dependable, safety-driven CDL Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This regional role involves hauling agricultural and construction equipment between customer locations, Crown dealerships, and job sites throughout the region. As a key representative of our company, you’ll be responsible for ensuring timely, secure, and professional deliveries every time.

Operating late-model trucks and well-maintained trailers, you’ll work with a supportive team that prioritizes safety, communication, and efficiency. What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company-owned trucks to transport agricultural and construction equipment regionally
  • Load and unload equipment using ramps, winches, chains, and binders in accordance with DOT and safety guidelines
  • Inspect trucks, trailers, and equipment before and after trips to ensure safe operation and compliance with DOT regulations
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including bills of lading, inspection logs, and customer signatures
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, service, and sales teams regarding delivery schedules and updates
  • Ensure all equipment is properly secured and protected during transport
  • Represent Crown Power & Equipment with professionalism during every customer interaction
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local driving laws and DOT requirements
  • Assist with basic equipment movements or deliveries around the dealership lot as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of assigned vehicle and trailer
  • Report any vehicle issues, incidents, or traffic violations promptly
  • Assist in the assembly and setup of new equipment and implements upon arrival
  • Clean, detail, and prepare new and used equipment for delivery or showroom display
  • Support service technicians with basic repairs, parts pickups/deliveries, and equipment movement
  • Maintain the appearance and organization of the dealership lot, including seasonal lawn care and equipment staging
  • Assist with general building upkeep and ensure the shop remains clean and orderly
  • Help stage and prepare equipment for customer events, sales, and promotional displays
  • Consistently follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with equipment, safety practices, and dealership procedures
  • Assist with other duties as required to ensure smooth and efficient department operations

Requirements

What We’re Looking For: Qualifications & Skills

  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
  • DOT medical certification and understanding of current DOT regulations
  • Minimum 2 years of experience hauling equipment
  • Proven ability to safely load, secure, and unload various types of equipment
  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols, tie-down procedures, and trailer operation
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to pass drug screening and background check
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods, including regional routes
  • Capable of climbing in and out of trucks and heavy equipment multiple times per day
  • Able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 lbs. (chains, binders, tools, etc.)
  • Manual dexterity to secure loads using chains, straps, and tie-downs
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching during loading/unloading and inspections
  • Must have adequate hearing and vision (with or without corrective aids) for safe operation and DOT compliance
  • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections that may involve walking around and under trailers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience hauling agricultural or construction equipment
  • Forklift certification
