Description

The Field Safety Specialist will be responsible for performing safety audits at all branch, mine, and worksite locations to keep in compliance with Company, OSHA, and MSHA standards. The successful candidate will generate reports for each manager to stay compliant, as well as follow up on outstanding items. 

Requirements


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform audits at each location with a minimum of quarterly visits to ensure compliance with all Company standards and keep the workplace safe.
  • Perform risk assessments, document findings, and recommend safety requirements.
  • Conduct training courses on general industry safety standards for employees.
  • Travel to branch locations and job sites/worksites required
  • Performs all other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications


3-5 years experience with safety standards/policies, OSHA regulations, and auditing for safety compliance preferred. 


All qualifications must comply with provincial human rights legislation.  Qualifications include:

  • OSHA 501 (General Industry) to teach OSHA 10 and 30 classes as needed 
  • MSHA part 46 and 48 certifications
  • Must obtain Caterpillar Instructor Accreditation Program within 1st year
  • Must obtain first responder and CPR certification within 1st year
  • Attention to detail and observation skills
  • Great communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Clean MVR (No more than 1 moving violation under the age of 25, and no more than 2 if over the age of 25)
