The Director, Site Operations is responsible for leading, mentoring, and overseeing operational performance across multiple Compass campuses to ensure consistent execution of Compass culture, policies, and programs. This role serves as a key bridge between campus operations teams, customers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless delivery of services, adherence to maintenance and operational standards, and readiness for new site activation. The position also provides strategic and tactical guidance on incident management, change management, budget stewardship, and customer lifecycle engagement.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop campus managers and site operations teams to ensure consistent execution of Compass programs, and policies.
- Defender and Champion of Compass Culture. Ensures team behaviors are in alignment with our culture and that our culture tools are used appropriately and consistently.
- Drive operational alignment across all campuses, ensuring adherence to maintenance schedules, incident management, and change management requirements.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for campus managers while empowering teams to resolve challenges at the appropriate level.
- Oversee campus go-live readiness, including operational integration, staffing alignment, process implementation, and budget management.
- Collaborate closely with internal partners such as Delivery, Finance, Security, and Supply Chain to ensure cohesive operational support and project execution.
- Maintain strong customer relationships, engaging at both operational and strategic levels to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnership success.
- Provide senior-level technical feedback to inform continuous improvement of operational prototypes and processes.
- Manage operational budgets to maximize efficiency and control costs without compromising service quality.
Education & Experience:
- Job Experience: 5+ years of managerial experience in a mission-critical MEP facility, preferably in hyperscale datacenter operations .
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or related field; equivalent work experience also considered.
- Language: Fluent in spoken and written English. Additional languages are a plus.
Knowledge & Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of datacenter infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Strong understanding of change management and incident management processes.
- Experience with hyperscale datacenter environments.
- Solid business acumen with basic financial knowledge for budget oversight and operational cost control.
- Proven ability to solve complex operational challenges in fast-paced environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey operational, technical, and strategic information.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor diverse teams across multiple locations.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
