Senior Systems Engineer
Location: On-site in Richardson, TX; State College, PA; Aurora, CO; or Dulles, VA
Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a polygraph
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (5/40 work week)
Target Salary: $145,000 – $150,000

Position Overview
Raytheon is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support our Cyberdyne Program. In this role, you will provide technical leadership, system-level design, and analysis in support of agile software development efforts. You will collaborate across engineering disciplines to define, implement, and validate system capabilities while ensuring alignment with customer requirements. This position requires strong experience in the systems engineering lifecycle and Agile development practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to design and develop mission-critical software systems.
- Support the full systems engineering lifecycle: requirements analysis, system design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Decompose customer requirements into features, capabilities, and user stories using SAFe Agile practices.
- Define system interfaces, acceptance criteria, and conduct technical analyses.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, interface control documents (ICDs), and system specifications.
- Apply engineering rigor to reduce development risk and ensure high-quality system performance.
- Obtain a polygraph post-hire (required).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years.
- Demonstrated experience in systems engineering for software-intensive systems using Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in requirements decomposition, solution definition, system design, and acceptance criteria development.
- Familiarity with GEOINT imagery and data formats.
- Experience revising ICDs, APIs, and system specifications.
- Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
- Active TS/SCI clearance (required to start).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of containerized software architectures.
- Familiarity with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo).
- Experience with Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or JAMA.
- Understanding of Multi-INT sensemaking, orchestration, and processing concepts.
