We’re on the lookout for a detail-driven and proactive Banking and Intercompany Analyst to join us in our Didsbury office. If you're someone who enjoys getting stuck into reconciliations, thrives on problem-solving, and likes things to balance just right, this might be just the kind of challenge you’re looking for. You'll be working across teams, helping to keep our bank and intercompany accounts in check, and playing a key part in our month-end reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Running daily bank reconciliation and preparing banking log for purchase ledger, credit control & treasury
- Reconciling items where possible and chase the relevant team to complete the unreconciled items by month end
- Posting journals across the business to clear down transaction such us payments, bank fees, interests
- Ensuring all the processes are documented and process notes are fully maintained and accurate
- Assist the wider business with a view to personal development and business exposure, e.g., payroll accounting
- Develop clear communication pathways with all necessary internal and external stakeholders to ensure swift and accurate resolution of queries and actions
- Reconcile all the group bank accounts ensuring unreconciled items are kept to a minimum and a low value, and evidence is provided on the submitted bank packs
- Forming and posting monthly FX journals, borrowing base accruals and intercompany interest postings
- Run intercompany reconciliation. Investigate and communicate all variances and complete reconciliation with sufficient evidence
- Monthly management reporting, inclusive of balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with ad hoc management and audit related queries
- SOX/Compliance/Audit – Reports and reconciliations are completed in line with compliance requirements

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Started studying for either AAT, CIMA or ACCA
- Accustomed to undertaking month-end procedures and associated analysis and reporting
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Strong communicator and possess an ability to develop trusting and credible business relationships
- Have a questioning and inquisitive mind – not afraid to ask questions or challenge convention, nor to drive improvements and efficiencies as appropriate
- Takes personal responsibility for their work
- Comfortable working independently of direct supervision and able to demonstrate personal initiative and drive
- Able to analyse and interpret significant quantities of financial and transactional data
- Able to identify and apply improvement to any process where necessary and having an open mind to changes
- Knowledge of Oracle Fusion accounting system
- Finance related degree (2.1 or above)
- Previous experience of working in the energy sector
