We are now expanding into the UK with our Field Service programme. We are looking for additional UK based Field Service Technicians to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing team delivering a great service for our customers. Initially this role will be on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract with the aim to transfer to a permanent contract.

The role: As a Field Service Technician, you are responsible for maintenance and repairs on all IPG/Better Packages products within the assigned locations and to assure continuity of customer operations. You will have ownership of all customer problems and/or incidents until the situation has been resolved to the customer's satisfaction and/or in compliance with agreed upon Service Agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This position is required to be knowledgeable with IPG products, features, functionalities, capabilities, and distribution channels and be capable of effectively communicating the IPG value to our customers
  • Perform on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, service tasks and conduct product demonstrations when required. Provide maintenance support and training to in-house maintenance staff
  • Establish a regular Preventive Maintenance program for existing end user accounts
  • Assist in testing and evaluating new products and custom packaging equipment. Record and report faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences
  • Follow established communication procedures - issue RMA's, prepare and submit work orders, expense reports, trip reports, etc.
  • Software upgrades to WAT units when required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 GSCE's (including Maths & English A-C) or equivalent
  • NVQ in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (Desirable)
  • Broad knowledge and experience of electronic and electromechanical principals
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft suite
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to understand technical diagrams and manuals
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Proven track record of keeping good records

Other Information:

The successful candidate will be responsible for 2 locations and must be able to commute to both locations B76 and DE74.
